🥊 The Main Event
Hearn caved — he’s meeting White in LA tomorrow. The fight is in 66 days.
For months Dana White has insisted he’s promoting Fury-Joshua. At the UFC 332 presser Saturday he tripled down: “I’m producing it. I’m promoting it. I’ll see you in Wales.” The British Boxing Board of Control’s paperwork says otherwise — the promoters on record are Matchroom, Queensberry, and Sela. Zuffa isn’t listed. Hearn called White “completely cooked” and produced Sela’s written word that White’s involvement is prohibited under the contract.
Then Hearn did the only thing that matters: he said yes to the meeting. Zuffa’s reps sit down with him in Los Angeles on Wednesday to “work something out.” Hearn’s line: “Turki Alalshikh wants them to be involved in the fight, and so does Netflix.”
Here’s the thing. Hearn is negotiating from total legal strength — and still taking the meeting. That’s the tell. He doesn’t need White. But Netflix and Turki want him, and when the money wants something, the contract is the opening bid, not the final word. The public war was leverage theater that doubled as free marketing; Wednesday in LA is the real negotiation. Expect an announcement that lets White claim involvement without touching the paperwork that prohibits it.

📊 The Full Card
DAZN moves to buy The Ring from Turki Alalshikh
- Three boxing officials confirmed to BoxingScene that DAZN is positioning to take controlling interest in The Ring — confirming Tris Dixon’s first report. DAZN declined to confirm or deny. Turki bought it from Oscar De La Hoya in November 2024 for a reported $10 million.
- The business read: the “Bible of Boxing” is about to be owned by the distributor. And the bigger signal — Turki said at the presser “I will not be here long,” amid illness reports. Is boxing’s biggest spender divesting?
Ki MMA adds ex-ESPN CEO Steve Bornstein to its advisory board
- Bornstein advises on media strategy, distribution, and fan engagement, joining ex-TelevisaUnivision CEO Wade Davis and Oaktree co-founder Steve Kaplan alongside Scott Coker. The promotion is financed at a reported $60M, launching Q1 2027 with a 32-man featherweight grand prix.
- The business read: Coker is assembling a media-rights brain trust before announcing a single fighter or broadcaster. Distribution before talent. That’s how you know this one is being built for a rights deal, not a fan base.
UFC 335 is set: Oliveira vs. Lopes for the BMF belt, Dec 12 in Vegas
- Announced during the UFC 332 broadcast: Oliveira defends the BMF title against Diego Lopes, Pereira vs. Pavlovich co-mains, plus Pyfer vs. Nickal and Moreno vs. Charles Johnson. T-Mobile Arena, all on Paramount+ — no PPV. The final numbered card of 2026.
- The business read: the BMF belt — invented as a one-night gimmick — is now the headline asset for the Paramount era’s closing card. Manufactured stakes beat vacant thrones when you’re selling subscriptions.
UFC 332: 11 finishes, a new flyweight queen, and a record
- Natalia Silva outpointed Wang Cong to claim the vacant flyweight title; Payton Talbott starched ex-champ Deiveson Figueiredo in 2:09 of round one; 11 KOs on the card — a single-card UFC record. Salt Lake City, Saturday night.
- The business read: no marquee names, record output. That’s the Paramount-era thesis working — the machine manufactures stars instead of renting them. Talbott now has back-to-back wins over former champions, and the matchmakers just got their easiest sell of the year.
Ben Whittaker survived himself in Birmingham
- Whittaker outpointed Conor Wallace to win the IBF final eliminator — nine rounds a masterclass, then nearly stopped in the 10th through 12th, hitting the canvas three times in the final round with none ruled knockdowns. Hearn is pumping the brakes: “Whittaker needs at least one more fight” before Bivol, who defends against Callum Smith on Dec 12.
- The business read: Matchroom watched its most marketable young star get exposed and survive in the same night — the best possible outcome, because a scare builds a story faster than a shutout. And Whittaker told Uncrowned last week that Zuffa Boxing is “dive-bombing” his DMs. The bidding hasn’t started, but the fishing has.
De La Hoya unloads on Helwani: Garcia’s free agency, Zuffa tension, the Ring sale
- On Monday’s 3-hour Helwani show: Garcia’s free agency is looming, there was real fight-week tension with Zuffa Boxing during Garcia-Benn (Sept 12, co-promoted by Zuffa and Golden Boy on Paramount+), and Oscar addressed the reports of Turki selling The Ring.
- The business read: the promoter who sold the Bible of Boxing is now narrating its resale on a podcast. When De La Hoya is the one explaining your industry’s consolidation, the consolidation is further along than anyone admits.

💬 The Chatter
What the fight world is talking about — no take required, just the room.
- Fury wants Trump on his ring walk. Told the BBC he’ll invite his “old buddy” the President to join the procession in Cardiff. He met Trump at the White House UFC event in June, after Trump lifted his US travel ban. He knows Trump won’t come. That’s not the point.
- Craig Jones vs. Dillon Danis to headline CJI 3 — “Greatest Grappler in the World,” announced on Jones’s Instagram Friday. No date, no venue, and the announcement history here is murky. File under: believe it when there’s a building.
- Sam Alvey signed a multi-fight BKFC deal. The 40-year-old, 24 UFC appearances deep, is coming off a Karate Combat heavyweight title run and a win over Uriah Hall. BKFC’s veteran-harvest strategy rolls on.
- PFL Dubai (Nov 14, ESPN2): viral prospect Alexei Pergande (8-0, 387K on IG, 822K on TikTok) fights Akhmed Magomedov — his first fight outside the US, jumping from featherweight toward lightweight. The lame-duck PFL is betting on social-native names to stay relevant through the merger.
- PFL MENA 11 set its tournament finals Saturday in Boulevard City — the regional pipeline keeps producing while the parent company figures out what it is.

💰 Money Talk
The Ring’s ownership chain: $7M → $10M → DAZN
- De La Hoya bought the magazine for a reported $7M in 2007, sold it to Turki for a reported $10M in 2024, and now DAZN takes controlling interest. A publication that once ranked fighters now gets ranked by its owner’s broadcast partners — DAZN already holds deals with Queensberry, Golden Boy, Top Rank, Matchroom, and PBC.
- The question nobody’s asking out loud: what is a lineal belt worth when the sanctioning body and the broadcaster share a cap table?
A $10M lawsuit lands on Jake Paul and MVP
- Heather Hardy — the former WBO featherweight champion — is suing Jake Paul and Most Valuable Promotions for $10 million over her August 2023 loss to Amanda Serrano, claiming the fight caused career-ending traumatic brain injury. Filed in the Northern District of Texas; news broke Sept 28.
- The business read: the MVP-PFL merger is inheriting real liability, not just contracts. A $10M brain-injury suit from a former champion is exactly the kind of tail risk that reprices a deal. Whoever modeled this merger just got a new line item.

🎤 Content Game
Helwani’s Monday show is the fight world’s press room now
- Three hours: UFC 332 fallout, the Dana-vs-Eddie deep dive, De La Hoya on everything, Talbott’s O’Malley callout and the response. The stories that moved this morning all passed through that desk first. The lesson, again: the podcast is the press conference now.
CJI 3’s headliner was announced on Instagram
- No press release, no venue, no date — Jones just posted it. Grappling’s biggest properties now launch the way fighters launch callouts: straight to the feed, let the outlets catch up. When your announcement channel is free and your audience is already there, the press release is just paperwork.

📈 Markets
|
TKO $177.04 +0.8% — touched a new 52-week low intraday ($171.19) before bouncing. ~$33.5B market cap, down ~14% over the last year — while 22 analysts still rate it a Buy with a $231 average target. The Street and the tape disagree; the tape is winning.
DKNG $19.60 +5.4% — Bank of America upgrade to Buy ($27 target): prediction markets are “win-win” for DKNG, estimates bottoming, 47% yearly retreat = attractive risk-reward. Still ~40%+ down YTD; the 52-week low ($18.52) was hit Friday.
FLUT $75.73 +1.2% — quiet bounce, no fresh catalyst; sitting just above the 52-week low ($73.50, hit Friday). Down ~24% in a month, ~65% YTD — while the analyst consensus still says Buy with a $135 average target. The widest price-vs-target gap in the sector.
What I’m watching: TKO printed a fresh 52-week low the same week its biggest boxing play (Fury-Joshua) dominates the news cycle. If the market won’t re-rate on the biggest fight of the decade, what does it re-rate on?
