Fury-Joshua sold out in 40 minutes — White projects a $34M gate (Oct 14) · BOXING
Principality Stadium sold out in under 40 minutes on Wednesday, with more than 500,000 fans in the online queue. Prices ran from £228.20 to £13,128. Dana White told Pat McAfee on Tuesday there were “less than 700” tickets left and projected a gate of roughly $34 million — which would shatter the British boxing record. (Scottish Sun; box.live.)
For scale: Joshua–Dubois at Wembley did roughly £14M, Fury–Whyte around £12M. A $34M gate — about £25M — would nearly double the current mark. The caveats: it’s White’s projection, not a confirmed number, and the sellout figure is the promoter’s own count. Even discounted, this is the first hard economics anyone has put on the biggest British fight ever staged.
Why it matters. The late start — timed for the US audience — plus a record gate would prove the streamer-era fight can out-earn the stadium era in a single night. And $34M just became the 2026 live-revenue benchmark every other promoter gets measured against, Riyadh included.

📊 The Full Card
Fury’s side already rewrote its contract to drop the White ban — Joshua’s hasn’t (Oct 13) · BOXING
- Spencer Brown, Tyson Fury’s manager, told Ariel Helwani the original Fury–Joshua contract had zero involvement from TKO, White or Zuffa. A venue change forced a new contract — and Fury’s side later amended its agreement to remove those restrictions. Anthony Joshua’s contract still contains the ban. (MMA Sucka, via Helwani’s X post.)
- The business read: It’s a two-contracts problem now: Fury’s side is already aligned with White, and the leverage sits with Hearn and Joshua to extract terms or block him. Wednesday in LA was supposed to settle this — it hasn’t. Flag: quotes are via MMA Sucka’s account of Helwani’s X post; the segment date is inferred.
A crypto casino offered $10K a month to every UFC fighter (Oct 12) · MMA/BUSINESS
- Gamdom founder Felix Romer posted an open letter to X on Monday: $10,000 a month to every fighter on the UFC roster. That’s roughly 700 fighters — about $7 million a month, $84 million a year, if everyone took it up. The fine print: “subject to agreed terms, applicable requirements and existing contractual obligations.” It drew 1.1M views and UFC fighters in the replies. (Bloody Elbow; SportBible.)
- The business read: An unsolicited third party just publicly quantified a UFC-wide pay floor: $120K a year. Whether or not a single fighter signs, that number now exists in every negotiation and every headline about the Strickland dispute. Flag: zero evidence anyone has accepted — it’s a marketing play, not signed contracts.
Rafael: Adames’ first Zuffa Boxing bout is a non-title fight — with a vacant-title trap (Oct 15) · BOXING
- Carlos Adames’ first bout under his new Zuffa Boxing deal (Nov 17) will be a non-title fight above middleweight, Rafael reported on X: if the opponent beats him, Adames loses the belt — but the winner doesn’t claim it. Mandatory challenger Meiirim Nursultanov sits unpaid and waits. (BoxingNews24, via Rafael’s X post.)
- The business read: Zuffa Boxing is already normalizing sanctioning-body gymnastics — champion-protection clauses that freeze mandatory challengers. Yesterday this deal was about consolidation; today it’s about what consolidation lets you do to everyone else. Flag: single outlet, quoting Rafael’s post second-hand.
MVP plants a flag in India: Pettis vs. Goyat, Jan 23 (Oct 14) · BOXING
- Former UFC and WEC champion Anthony Pettis faces India’s Neeraj Goyat in a six-round 154-lb bout on January 23, 2027 — announced Tuesday by Jake Paul’s MVP. Goyat was MVP’s first international signee back in 2024. The card is run by IPBL Boxing and sanctioned by the Indian Boxing Council; Hyderabad, Visakhapatnam and Chennai are competing to host, with the city announced in November. (MMA Junkie; Bloody Elbow.)
- The business read: MVP’s first India play: a legacy MMA name to crack a 1.4-billion-person market. If the city bidding turns real, every promoter with a dusty veteran will be cold-calling Mumbai. Flag: venue and broadcast TBA; “biggest card in Indian history” is MVP’s own billing.
Rozenstruik ends his MMA hiatus with Fight Nation Championship (Oct 13) · MMA
- Ex-UFC heavyweight Jairzinho Rozenstruik signed with Europe’s Fight Nation Championship, announced Tuesday via a collaborative Instagram post, for FNC 37 at Munich’s SAP Garden — no opponent named. Rozenstruik was released by the UFC in February 2025 after the Pavlovich loss, then won two Dirty Boxing bouts and its inaugural heavyweight title last August. (Sherdog; MiddleEasy.)
- The business read: European regionals keep bidding for name ex-UFC heavyweights as anchor talent — and FNC is planting its Munich flag inside a premier German arena. The ex-UFC heavyweight has become a portable ticket seller, and the price keeps rising. Flag: no opponent, no confirmed date (Sherdog lists Feb 6, 2027; other reports conflict), no financial terms.

💬 The Chatter
What the fight world is talking about — no take required, just the room.
- An IBO world title fight airs today — at 2pm ET, on AWE. Milan Prat (30-1) defends against Brandon Thysse (20-4-1) live on AWE this afternoon; AWE president Charles Herring says another world title fight is coming before year-end and “upwards of a half dozen” cards in 2027. Promoter-channel release via 15rounds — ratings and distribution undisclosed.
- An Iowa regional pays fighters 20% of the tickets they sell — on top of the purse. The River Cities Reader profiled Caged Aggression XLII — the promotion’s 51st event, two nights (Oct 16–17) in Davenport, 48 fighters: fans can buy tickets designating a specific fighter, who gets 20% of those sales plus a purse plus produced bout footage for YouTube. The fairest comp model in MMA, from Davenport. (Oct 14)
- PFL Chicago (tomorrow) reshuffle. Brock Hamer (5-1) replaces Morquez Forest against Levan Khabalaev (6-0); the main event is still Carmouche vs. Bishop 2 for the inaugural women’s flyweight title. (Sherdog, Oct 12)
- A TV collision on Nov 14. Matchroom’s new monthly series “The Fight” runs Pacheco–Fulghum plus Olascuaga’s WBO flyweight defense vs. Yuberjen Martinez on TNT/truTV/DAZN from Carson, CA — the same night as UFC 334 at MSG, per Oct 14 reports. Someone’s going to lose an audience. (Matchroom, Oct 14)

📈 Markets

WEDNESDAY, OCT 14 CLOSES
FLUT $74.26 -4.87% Wed — the day’s biggest faller — down ~66% YTD, and the chief legal officer resigned at the end of September. The stock needs a catalyst that isn’t a departure.
DKNG $18.90 -4.16% Wed — new 52-week low ($18.50 intraday) — the BofA upgrade bounce lasted one session. Still ~44% off its one-year market-cap high.
TKO $172.38 -0.85% Wed — fresh 52-week intraday low ($170.92). Analysts still say Moderate Buy with a ~$237.50 target — the widest price-vs-target gap in the sector keeps getting wider.
NFLX $70.57 +0.16% Wed — flat — after announcing 1,000 job cuts (6% of the workforce, the biggest since 2022) ahead of Tuesday’s earnings. Huber cut it to Underweight. The fight tie: the company carrying Fury-Joshua in eight weeks was the only green name on this board.
PREDICTION MARKETS — Polymarket
UFC Middleweight champ, end of 2026 $975k vol
| Strickland 86.25% |
|
| Anyone else 13.75% |
|
Strickland at 86% — while Khamzat Chimaev is priced at just 1.25% to still hold the belt. The crowd thinks the contract fight is already settled.
UFC Welterweight champ, end of 2026 $661k vol
| Makhachev 92.1% |
|
| Anyone else 7.9% |
|
Makhachev ticked up from 89.3% to 92.1% in 24 hours — the surest thing in combat sports, per the crowd.
The read: Wednesday was the sector’s worst day in weeks: TKO, DraftKings and Flutter all fell, with DKNG and TKO printing fresh 52-week lows. The only green name on the board was Netflix — the company carrying Fury-Joshua in eight weeks. Right now the market will pay for distribution and punish everything that actually involves taking a punch.
