🥊 The Main Event
Zuffa now holds three of the four middleweight belts (Oct 13) · BOXING
WBC middleweight champion Carlos Adames (25-1-1) signed a multi-fight promotional contract with Zuffa Boxing on Tuesday, BoxingScene reported, citing a UFC-issued release. He joins IBF champion Aaron McKenna — who won his belt headlining Zuffa Boxing 10 in Dublin in August — and WBO champion Denzel Bentley, who signed on October 5. Three of the four 160-pound titles now sit under one roof. (BoxingScene; talkSPORT.)
The belts may not stay stacked for long. Bentley is petitioning the WBO to let him keep his November 7 date with Shane Mosley Jr. instead of facing mandatory Yoenli Hernandez — lose the appeal and the belt goes. Adames has his own mandatory problem: the WBC ordered him to face Meiirim Nursultanov by October 20. And Adames already fired the first in-house shot on X, calling out McKenna for a unification: “Save this post on X, because you’re going to need it.” (nyfights; Boxing247.)
Why it matters. This is the consolidation play the old promotional model could never execute. When one promoter holds three of four belts, unification stops being a negotiation and becomes scheduling — and Zuffa gets to manufacture the undisputed fight boxing has begged for. The test is whether the sanctioning bodies let them keep what they collect: if the WBO strips Bentley, the thesis cracks. Either way, every middleweight negotiating from here on is negotiating against a promoter that owns the division.

📊 The Full Card
BKB poaches BKFC’s heavyweight champion (Oct 14) · BARE-KNUCKLE
- Former BKFC world heavyweight champion Mick Terrill (10-2, 10 KOs — every win by knockout) signed a multi-fight exclusive deal with BKB, announced today. He returns to the original UK BKB banner, where he held the heavyweight title from 2016 to 2018; the immediate target is undefeated BKB heavyweight champ Gustavo Trujillo. (FightNews, via BKB announcement.)
- The business read: Cross-promotion champion poaching is the bare-knuckle talent war going public. BKFC spent years harvesting boxing’s veterans; now its own champions are the harvest.
Strickland calls Helwani his “number 1 hater” (Oct 13) · MMA
- Helwani said on Monday’s show he has “little sympathy” for Strickland’s renegotiation push — noting the champ signed a six-fight deal five months ago to secure the Chimaev title shot, with five fights still remaining per MMA Junkie’s Mike Bohn. Strickland fired back on X, calling Helwani his “number 1 hater” and alleging bias; Demetrious Johnson sided with Helwani’s contract-is-a-contract logic, citing his own flyweight-title experience. (Helwani Substack; Bloody Elbow.)
- The business read: The pay dispute is now a three-way public negotiation — fighter, media, and the ghost of the contract he signed. The uncomfortable truth for Strickland: every public escalation makes the UFC’s “you signed it” position cheaper to hold.
Lucero Acosta’s PFL debut, after 2.5 years in Combate limbo (Oct 13) · MMA
- Mexican star Lucero Acosta (“La Loba”) debuts for PFL on Friday in Chicago against Shannon Clark — after her Combate Global contract ended in May. She fought once in 2.5 years amid Combate’s event cancellations: a 10-month gap in 2024-25, then nine more events canceled. (sportswirelive; Sherdog.)
- The business read: The regional-promotion trap in one career: exclusive contract, no events, prime years gone. Acosta’s PFL debut is a case study in why a fighter’s real leverage isn’t the purse — it’s activity.
KSI’s “retirement” played to a thin room (Oct 11) · MEDIA
- KSI took the ring at London’s Copper Box to announce a Misfits charity initiative, Joe Weller’s return, and his own boxing “retirement” — to a visibly thin crowd. Jake Paul mocked it: “and the crowd goes mild.” KSI also claimed Misfits beat MVP to the Viddal Riley and Michael Page signings. (Bloody Elbow.)
- The business read: The attendance tells the story creator boxing doesn’t want told: the UK’s once-stadium-filling rivalry can’t fill the Copper Box. When the spectacle stops selling rooms, the “retirement” promo starts looking like a lifecycle, not a bit.

💬 The Chatter
What the fight world is talking about — no take required, just the room.
- DWCS Season 10 finale: four UFC contracts — but not for the main-event winner. Erick Visconde dominated Ilias Bulaid in the headliner and was told to try again next year. The contracts went to Greg Foster, Douglas da Lapa, Luis Francischinelli and Smilla Sundell — who beat Alex Pereira’s sister Aline by unanimous decision (29-28 x3). (MMA Junkie, Oct 13)
- Haney vs. Shakur talks are underway. Per Helwani’s Uncrowned Beat, the lightweight megafight the division has circled for two years is finally in real discussions. Believe it when there’s a date. (Oct 10)
- GFL’s debut is Saturday in Vegas. The much-delayed promotion is slated for Sam’s Town Live — its June announcement named no fighters and no broadcast. The quietest launch in recent memory.

📈 Markets

TUESDAY, OCT 13 CLOSES
DKNG $19.72 +0.31% Tue — sideways after Susquehanna reaffirmed its $27 target Friday; still down ~43% YTD while the analyst consensus says Buy with a ~$34 target. The tape hasn’t heard it yet.
FLUT $78.06 -0.28% Tue — Citizens Jmp cut its target to $129 Tuesday — one day after Citi upgraded to Buy. Two banks, two directions, one stock still ~64% down YTD.
TKO $173.62 +0.11% Tue — flat but green after Monday’s 52-week-low print; still ~24% below the February high ($226.94). The slide paused — for a day.
DIS $108.58 +0.08% Tue — quiet — but ESPN’s fight slate matters this week: PFL Chicago headlines ESPN2 on Friday night.
PREDICTION MARKETS — Polymarket
UFC Welterweight champ, end of 2026 $660k vol
| Makhachev 89.3% |
|
| Anyone else 10.7% |
|
UFC Heavyweight champ, end of 2026 $393k vol
| Gane 69.5% |
|
| Anyone else 30.5% |
|
Gane drifted from 64.5% to 69.5% in 24 hours — the crowd is pricing the UFC 334 title fight before the contracts are even announced.
The read: Tuesday tape — the fight-and-bets complex bounced off the floor it printed Monday, barely. The market still values every company in this sector like the growth story is over — while the betting handle underneath keeps growing. That gap is the whole investment thesis, and it’s still open.
